Fluke 115 Multimeter - Quick Review

The Fluke 115 multimeter looks like it is very suitable for use in electronics at first sight, or is there something missing? Read this review before buying.

Update December 2021: one of the leads on this meter broke internally after minimal light use.

What It Can Measure

The Fluke 115 multimeter can measure the following:

  • AC Volts
  • DC Volts
  • AC milli-Volts
  • DC milli-Volts
  • Ohms
  • Continuity
  • Diodes
  • Capacitance
  • AC amps
  • DC amps
  • Frequency

What is Missing?

There is no milli-Amp range on the meter. This is something that is required when working with electronics. Although the other functions are electronics related such as the milli-Volt range, resistance, continuity, diode test, capacitance and frequency, the milli-Amp range is the only thing that is missing from this multimeter that would otherwise make a great basic multimeter for electronics. This meter would be more suited to electrician work.

Multimeter Lead Failure

After minimal light use of the Fluke 115 multimeter, one of the leads broke internally. This has never happend on any of my other cheaper meters. I had to buy a pair of generic multimeter leads to replace the failed Fluke ones that came with the meter.
